Standard centre seat won't fit ... doesn't clear the transfer box lever on Puma's Confused Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Hi,
I fitted a pair of seats out of a disco4 (the two extra rear seats) without to much mods.
They came in the original sub frame, some modification was required to fit these.
I first made a sub frame out of 35mm x 35mm angle to fit between the wheel arches then adjusted the disco4 sub frame to suit and welded to the new base, this fits perfectly between the defenders wheel arches, I then bolted this through the sides of the wheel arches and fitted doubler plates to strengthen.
Two defender seatbelts and front top belt supports were then fitted and they fit the disco4 stalks.
When the seats are in the upright position they are about 600mm from the rear door so wife's shopping fits fine, when folded flat they sit flush with the tops of the wheel arches giving a nice large flat load area and some storage space underneath for bits and bobs.
Drop me an email if you need any pictures and I will send you more detail.
I will be away untill the 28th (at work) but will be able to send you info after then.

Hi, I managed to fit one no problem, I fitted 10mm spacers between the rails and the seat box (front only) then shortned the transfer box linkage, I am sure this was not ot much problem, think I only had to adjust the rod end on the linkage.

I have taken it out, and removed the bulkhead now I have rear seats (fitted a bulkhead removal bar)
To allow kids access from front. I will have a look through my pics on my home PC. when I get back on dry land (stuck offshore for Xmas) on see if there is any pics, failing that I will do a quick drawing of where to fit the spacers and how to adjust linkage.
Remove your center tray and when you are in there remove the trans. cover from the seat box, this allows access to the linkage, I am sure I just removed the plastic ball joint and adjusted it down the rod about 10mm.
Think I used longer M6 bolts on front mounting points and made up spacers with M6 penny washers, about 10mm should do.
Best way to learn, just take it apart and get torn in!
Very Happy
