The Apple TV is a great bit of kit! It lets you stream wireless everything from your iDevice (iPhone - iPad - iMac) on your TV. Cheers, Vincent

As above, Apple TV allows you to stream video from any iOS device over WiFi as well as giving you access to online TV services (which you can also control from your iOS device.
If you have a spare Mac or PC that you can connect to the TV you can also get some software that will allow you to stream from your iOS device... http://www.airserver.com/ I'm using the above on an old MacMini that's hooked up to the music system and TV in the living room, primarily used for playing music rather than video. Not as good as Apple TV for video and if you have an oldish TV you might struggle to connect the PC/Mac to it but it's also a lot cheaper (free to try it). http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

Thanks for this, so to sum up, if I get Apple TV, can I watch BBC I player, itv player etc from my I pad onto the main tv?
Also, when I plug the I pad into the telly to look at my photos, the larger picture is of very poor quality, do I need to change settings somewhere? |

1st of all, how old is your TV? Does it have a HDMI input?
If it does what version iPad do you have? You can get an IPad to HDMI lead combined with a charger lead that allows you to plug the iPad into the HDMI socket on the TV. Select the correct HDMI input on the TV and your iPad screen will be duplicated on the TV in high definition. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1080P-Dock-Conne...19e0089dab LANDYWATCH ![]() Neighbourhood Watch for Land Rover Owners http://www.landywatch.co.uk/smf2/index.php |

Ok, TV has hdmi and the I pad is new, (don't know version).
When I plug the composite AV cable in, I can play a photo slide show, but the quality is very poor compared to photos direct to TV via a memory card or sd card. Would the hdmi lead produce better images or am I doing something wrong. |

I have only used a HDMI lead, but everything shown on the iPad is shown in HD quality on my tv.
