United Kingdom 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS DCPU Keswick Green
Light Reconnaissance Vehicle 400 (LRV 400)

"A militarized variant of Qt Services’ successful `Wildcat` off-road motorsport vehicle" so there might be some defender under there somewhere?

More here - http://defense-update.com/20130910_supacat...-2013.html

Possibly most interesting - "It can be fitted with a range of powertrain options – the display vehicle has a Ford 3.2-litre, 5-cylinder diesel engine developing 236 hp and 550 Nm torque coupled to a Ford-supplied 6-speed automatic gearbox and two-speed transfer box however, other engine and transmission options are available."

Not sure the British Army won't buy it, especially if it can go via the Urgent Operational Requirement (UOR) route but not seen any costings yet...

No chance the British army will take it- probably aimed at 'foreign' armies.

The British army even cancelled the last batch of Jackals because they aren't what they want anymore- not enough protection.

Have you got any more info on the cancelled order? Not seen anything about that.

I'm hoping they do buy a few...as what goes in one end eventually ends up coming out the other at Withams Very Happy

and a little video here:

Mk II version released and it's now based on the Discovery rather than Wildcat.

The LRV 400 has the unique feature of being convertible from 4×4 to 6×6.

The LRV 400 has front and rear independent double wishbone air suspension offering variable ride height and lock out – bump stops for stable firing and high power to weight ratio.

Powered by a V6 3.0 turbo diesel providing 256 bhp and 600Nm Torque , it has an 8 speed automatic transmission and high and low permanent 4WD with centre diff lock.

Cross-axle diff locks are also available as an option.

Now out and about.

Who needs a new Defender, when this ticks so many boxes?

Ramp angle is 153°

Ground clearance is 180mm (loading) & 320mm (standard).

If that's you definition of a bus, I'm happy to drive a bus 😉
