Heavy breathing and smoke from filler cap and dipstick....
Looking for a bit of advice and help of possible?

15P Td5 110 CSW

Purchased the car with a slight misfire when cold but improved when warm.
Car would smoke heavy (white) when cold and misfire.

Heavy breathing evident from filler cap and dipstick.

So far I've done:

Changed injector o rings and copper washers with genuine parts.
New oil and all filters inc fuel.
The breather thingy doo dah near the turbo was not blocked.

Now have rage and removed the head - nothing obvious to see but the face where the injector copper washers seat looked a little distorted or bumpy.?

Will be getting a machchined straight edge to check for straight.

Is there anywhere in or around York i could have the head pressure tested?

I have a video of the filler cap smoke before I removed the head.

Thanks for any help.

Much appreciated!

I would have suggested head gasget as a possible reason, and thats from previous experience. The last time it happened to me it blew the oil and water out of the dipstick. Don't make old people mad.

Thanks for the info,

Did you see any tell tale signs on the head or gasket to show damage or any deformation?

Cheers!

Not before it was stripped afterwards only then with a known true edge and feeler gauge, still wasn't sure so had test dial indicator run over the head and block which showed that they were not true, resulting in both being ground flat. Don't make old people mad.

Thinking a very light skim to clean to start with (payment in beer as a mate will do it)

Then just need to get it pressure tested....

Fingers crossed I don't need a new head.
