Steering column play
After my MOT this year I had two advisories, one being a worn shock bush (sorted) and the other is slight play in steering column. On closer investigation it appears that both the top and bottom UJ in the steering column have play. This does relate to play at the steering wheel, which I had assumed was the slack in my steering box. My question is, can the UJ's be replaced like the prop shaft ones or is it a new section of column from the bulkhead to the box?
If it is I have one hell of a bill coming because LR want £206 for a new one! Big Cry 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Looked up microcat via link of forum.

part is QMN500270 lower steering column, googling the part, first supplier 80.87£

There is a U-joint repair kit QLE500020 at 32.2£ but this is the bottom U-joint only

trying to get the steering shaft bush & bearing is impossible.

the bearing has numbers on it, but they aren't available anywhere...it seems LR (or their steering shaft supplier) have it all sewn up to themselves.

Sorry, mis-read the original post... thought you meant the actual bearings IN the steering column, as opposed to the UJ's on the shaft. Embarassed
