2008 130 defender transfer box fault-no drive
My 2008 defender 130 tdci trayback has decided to blow its transfer box(no drive at all) has anybody removed/replaced their transfer box and how hard is it to do?

What parts are needed to be removed?

Basically i stripped the offside rear half splines and halfshaft drive flange due to the amount of off road work and weight this vehcile carries!

Does anybody know if it is the same transfer box and rear halfshafts as fitted to a 2004 td5 90?

Any info would be grateful as i need the 130 back on the road asap as i can not do my job with out it!

Was featured in the Land Rover Owner International Magazine september 2012!

cheers james Thumbs Up

The same happened to my 90 after about 19000 road miles.....

Been fine since though. Seems to be a load of good ones, but a fair amount of bad ones too...

It looks like it isn't the transfer box after all...3 halfshaft plines and drive flanges are badly worn:-(
