Ignition feed for aftermarket alarm
Can any one help me with the ignition feed on the back of the ignition on a 300tdi, im a complete dummy when it come to electrics give me a spanner and welder any day ! Thumbs Up
it has 5 conectors 3 on the right and 2 on the left as you look at it from the back. I'm trying to fit a hawk alarm http://www.hawkcaralarm.com/DownloadManual...QUwg0.aspx this is the link for the user manual.
On page 10 is a diagram and page 9 a description. the red and black are sorted, I think the white and yellow are as well ive put these to the top left hand spade and the middle right spade (from back) I believe these are both for acsessories and aircon if fitted but i haven't.
So that just leaves the green and blue from the description they seem to be the same thing can any one tell me which they connect to.
Thanks in advance jack

The back of the ignition is fiddley to get to really but really the best location as it would also be fiddley for someone trying to steel it to remove it.

Sorry yer it's a 1996 Tdi
Pete haven't look in detail do you know if the ignition is bolted on with sheer bolts if not then would it be easier to remove it to wire my bits on?

Yes it is, as long as it hasn't had the good old previous owner none standard modification due to not understanding what those odd looking bolts are for.

Simple way to look at it,
Big brown wire = ignition switch feed
Big white = on when car is running
Red/white = on only when you are starting the car

I apologise if that comes across in a condascending manner, it wasn't intended to do.
