Dialog so far.....

Dear trillicklandrovercentre,

Dear Sirs
The items I received were not as advertised, i.e. not in original manufacturers packaging.
They failed in less than 100 miles after being fitted by a reputable Land Rover service company. This company tells me that they were not original since original O rings are of a dark green colour.
I require you to submit absolute proof of originality or refund my payment to you plus the cost of replacement by my service engineers.
Yours, very sincerely…

Hi
If you are not happy i will offer a full refund for the money you already paid us.
Thank-you
Trillicklandrovercentre

Dear trillicklandrovercentre,

Dear sir
I have asked for proof of authenticity which you have failed to produce.
Not only did I have to replace the seals supplied by you but I have a large bill from my repairers for doing so.
I require compensation from you for the work brought about by your fraudulent parts.
An associate who also bought seals from you and also had them fail after two weeks will also be seeking compensation.
Yours, most sincerely

Hi
I am afraid the best i can offer you is a full refund for the money you already paid us.
Thank-you
- trillicklandrovercentre

They are still advertising them as genuine parts!!!

Threaten them with trading standards and/or small claims court. Preferably in a letter sent by a solicitor. That ought to get them to cough up.

Had something similar with a shower valve.... it broke after a few months, they offered to refund the part, but not the £££ labour bill for removing/reinstalling/re-tiling etc. A few threats and they coughed up. Don't give up!

Their motto is " our prices wont drive you off the road!"

No, but they also wont get you on it!

Definitely trading standards job then solicitors.

Unlike you, I knowingly bought a non genuine pump before, fitted it, sender unit knackered from scratch. Right faff. Just replaced with genuine.

Also, a short, half hearted, unconcerned reply with no apology and an "i" for "I".

While on holiday in North Wales my 4 month old Bearmach fuel pump was making such a racket (Could hear it over the engine from fifty yards) that I bit the bullet and got it changed for a new OEM pump.
£500 inc. Sad
Many thanks to Power Range 4x4 of Denbigh, who lent us a pristine P38 to play with while they did the job. Very Happy

I'm touching wood at the moment as all the sloshing about last week has quietened my pump! Either that, or the fact that since taking the middle box out and de-catting it I have drowned it out with the exhaust note Whistle

Thanks for the info.
My TD5 frequently has no power for several seconds after start-up.
Maybe this will cure it.
