The crash test did not go to plan Rolling with laughter

For all those defender owners who worry about safety. Borrowed from another forum and a South African friend.

On a positive note, it just goes to prove dummies don't tend to drive Defenders.

Probably, there are no air bags, no crumple zones, solid chassis, solid bumper etc ....

Chances are with the muppets about on the road it could happen. Came across a 17yr old driving like a total Censored in a Corsa on mud and skidded right up to about 2ft in front of my bumper Shocked Shocked Needless to say I stopped beside him and gave him a piece of my mind. He nodded went white and then drove off when I let him. Twisted Evil

WRONG a Defender has a crumple zone. It is the other car!

A Defender has two weak points in the event of an accident.

1) The roof in the event of a roll over without a roll cage

2) Side impact as there is next to nothing bewteen drivers leg in the event of side impact UNLESS you have Rock and Tree sliders on Thumbs Up

In the event of a front or rear end collision then Defenders are Thumbs Up Basically impact is straight onto the chassis which is strong.

A Volvo managed to write itself off on back of red 110. Damage to 110? Slightly damaged rear bumperette

I had a brand new Volvo run into the back of my S2a just after I had just rebuilt it on a new chassis, he nearly hit me a few times in some stop start traffic, when he did it folded the bonnet up so that it hit my spare wheel bending the rear door. The Volvo had a wrecked bonnet, bumper was on the floor, wings bent & the rad was busted with coolant everywhere. He was a Volvo salesman & had the cheek to ask for a tow back to the showroom. Rolling with laughter

I believe trees and other Defenders are also a problem Whistle Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...
