Yep .. EBC slotted/drilled discs and EBC pads.
Fitted front and rears on mine ... 'standard' braking feels no different ................ but brake harder and WOW ! Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

Ive used EBC on other cars and bikes with good results, go direct to thier web site for the best deals and they are UK made DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

Having Delphi/Lockheed discs and TRW pads fitted to the 90 next week.
Be difficult to do a comparison to whats on now as the discs are almost non existent

Shouldnt make any difference ... I know Landytom has this set up on his 110 with ABS/TC and he has had no issues... ? Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

It won't affect the electronic systems. EBC and similar pads just give slightly more initial bite and don't fade as much as a standard compound pad. The Green Stuff pads are OK, but do demand some heat in them to get them to work effectively. I ran them on a Range Rover for a few years, and being an auto, you had to reign it in on the first few brake applications and then the pads appear to be OK after that. As you probably know, EBC do a few blends of pads for specific applications.
On the Range Rovers, EBC sold a 'SUV' pad starting with the part number 6xxx, and also a heavier duty pad starting with a 7xxx. The 7 series pad was far superior to the 6, but I have not researched the Defenders. The compound was the same but the metal backing on the 7 series was much thicker, which helped when the caliper pistons pushed out on them, and perhaps the metal helped with moving the heat away from the pad surface? Slotted discs are OK, and help keep the face of the pads nice and flat. Drilled are not really worth it, and on lesser brands can actually contribute to cracking as heat can build up at the point where the hole is drilled. The better ones are chamfered to prevent this. SuperPro Europe were importing and distributing some Aussie versions of the EBC's, but I have not seen anything recently promoting them. |

Im running standard compound EBC on the BM and the brakes are stonking much better than the OEM and have lasted longer so far than the originals, no evidence of scoring etc on the disks at 40k miles so very hp. Cost £60 for all four wheels about 18 months ago which was about 1/3 the cost of OEM from BM. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

have ebc green stuff pads 7 series and discs slotted not drilled, all round. very good so far. got mine from cam skill very good prices.
