I just don't 'get' carpets in a Defender. They all leak somewhere (or everywhere) and you are supposed to be getting in and out with muddy boots, wet dogs, etc. Rubber matting, that's all that you need
![]() PS. My new wheels and tyres arrived yesterday, as did the new HD 2" lift springs. Just waiting on the Koni shock absorbers to arrive then it's gonna be transformed! ![]() ![]() |

Not today, but yesterday evening, had my TD5 110 breathed on by Gary from Alive, who was on his way to Goodwood. Happy days

Been at the dealers having one last fettle, so had a courtesy car. Went to put some diesel in it before picking mine back up. Put a tenner in, replace the nozzle, lock the car, put my hand in my pocket to get my debit card... not there... instant flashback to my desk in the office with my wallet, works ID badge and phone.

Got the new ST Maxx tyres on today along with the HD Lifted Springs, and the Koni Heavy Tracks !
Went for a spin and all good. The bigger tyres seem to be a better match to the gearing and so it feels a more gutsy and the speedo is now pretty much bang on, wheras it read 10% out before on the 225s. Only issue is that we haven't done the front springs yet so it sits higher at the back and looks a bit odd - also a bit light on the steering at the front as a consequence, but will be trying some different front springs over the weekend (have amassed a selection of various ones so will try those before buying new ones). Tyres look amazing though, and pleased with the silver modulars - looks very smart! Will do pictures after the front springs are on and I've had chance to wash the African Sand off it! Also, my D44 Winch bumper arrived today, looks good, will have a trial fit at the weekend if we manage to sort the front springs out. In addition, got a box of stuff from MudUK - including carling switch dash insert and tie down eyes. Oh, and I also got an ARB compressor (for my ARBs, which are currently in Dave's 100" but will be rebuilt at Crown and then re-installed in mine when Dave gets his new Ashcroft lockers). It's all go (and a tad spendy!) at the White residence at the moment! ![]() ![]() |

Which D44 winch bumper did you go for Pam ?
I am looking at the tapered end version (D44DEFCLUBSTTA) but have to wait 5 or 6 weeks to get it as it is being redesigned to allow the Superwinch Talon to fit. Hi Bob,
I got D44DEFCLUBACTA - tapered end Clubman like the one you are getting but the Air Con version. I have a Goodwinch TDS 9.5 low profile to go in to it - assuming it fill fit! Went for the tapered end one as it looks a bit sleeker and less bulky than the standard ends. Pam |
