wipac crystal install
Never enough light, so decided to try out these new headlights.

35£ are never going to buy you something close to optical quality or crystal clear.

So indeed the mirror coating has several dirt particles in it, its all plastics and polycarbonate (is it??)

BUT

a 30min swap gives you a another big step forward in light output. I was quite satisfied with the Osram night breakers, and i am convinced they are 75% of the overall improvement but the extra 25% you get with these wipacs is well worth it.

So not a top quality product but worth their price.

Light pattern is more evenly spread which is nice although my digital camera did not measure less output from the quadoptics.

did not connect the parking lights as i'm afraid it will ruin the original defender look.

like the facelift

:)

Tidy. It's amazing how the old lights look so 'old hat' already.

Good call on the little spots too Thumbs Up QRZ 2e0vpf

Likewise mine were too. It's well worth fitting the stainless bezels at the same time Thumbs Up ____\We|Will|Win/___

Same for me too. Only gripe is there is no stainless screws but then again I wouldn't fancy trying to bodge the lighting alignment putting it back and then it becomes a big hassle getting it properly done. Why the hell don't LR either paint the things properly in the first place or use stainless even if it's painted over. Afterall the Genuine crap LR ones cost almost the same anyway Rolling Eyes ____\We|Will|Win/___

It's not to difficult, drive up to a wall mark with chalk the Top of the light beams, change lights and the reallign the lights against the chalk marks

It says at the bottom that they also fit the Austin A40 and the Ford Consul. I'd love to see that....

Also confused as to how they are 'not E-marked' but are 'MOT-passing lights'? Does that just mean the tester won't notice?

Think they're relying on the fact the tester will be dumbstruck by the quality of these lights and subsequently blinded by the crystal clarity the reflectors give to the high powered LEDs that can be seen from space on a cloudy day and singe your retinas at over a km away.

So what are you guys saying? what have these guys got to gain by saying they will fit the cars listed when they wouldn't?, these lights are the same as the "highly acclaimed" wipac crystals.

Also bought these lights and installed them yesterday. They are to small to fit and rattle around in the fitting ring... they are hold in by the edge of ring. Confused

Landy is a 1986 military one

EDIT: they are the LHD version, the wipac ones Scaling the real deal.
