Hi Guys,
I've had a set of Air Helpers in my 2005 90 TD5 pretty much from new, I got them from Matt Savage & have been very impressed. I was sceptical about the lifespan & thought they may wear & chafe against the spring but almost 7 years & 60,000 miles later they are still going strong. We use this 90 for long range camping trips rather than hard off road. I just pump it up to original ride height after loading the gear. Very stable on road, I would think they restrict articulation a wee bit off road but no real concern. Also very good for towing. I have them both connected together with one shraeder valve in the crossmember for inflation.
Here's a wee picture that doesn't show much, but its a cool pic

They do both, either or really by stiffening the rear springs. I find that when I load the 90 with all our camping gear & and Engel full of beer/vino etc then the rear sags by an inch or maybe 2. Inflating the bags takes it back to standard ride height & stiffens things up nicely.
