Hazard light alarm?
Last weekend I was doing some strenuous laning in my 90XS.
After a few jolts over a some rocks the hazard lights turned on.
Dash showed just the direction arrows flashing not the red triangle.
It reset by turning the ingnition off and back on.
What caused it? - it's not in the user manual.
Are there any other hidden warnings I should know about?

There is an inertia switch mounted on the bulhead just beside the coolant bottle. A large jolt causes it to trip turning on the hazards and according to the blurb should turn off the fuel pump though mine never has. It is supposed to be reset by pressing the rubber pad on the top of it. Although turning the ignition on and off does turn the flashers off the switch should still be reset manually. Land Rovers are an addiction. Toyotas are for quitters.

A hefty jolt to the alarm spider can also cause this. As the landy didn't cut out I would say that this is more likely in this case.

If it's due to a faulty alarm spider it won't be in the handbook. It's more common with older Discoverys but I have come across it with the odd defender too.
