How are you getting on with your battery tray?? Had my 300tdi for a week now and have just removed the battery. Oh dear....... 
Its been held in place by not much more than good will. Whats your plan, cutting and welding? Would Isopon & Aluminium mesh be good enough as a short tem fix until MOT time:oops: |

I am going to buy a battery tray, MOT is a good 9 months away, and its not too bad at the moment I am going to get one of these. http://www.yrm-metal-solutions.co.uk/021-n...x-13-p.asp I am led to believe they can just be riveted in! I am going to make my own inner van sides, Was going to put windows in, but I think I am just going to keep it as a van, as I have had a lot of use from it already. 6mm ply covered in acoustic carpet should do the trick. I have got my steering guard to try and fit today, and some more hoses to replace. RRUK, yours is looking great, you are inspiring me to get on too. But i dont have the budget you are working with, hence the blue peter approach to mine

More shiny hoses

Do you believe that they are riveted in on top of the existing or do you have to cut out the existing first?? Any one got any photos ? Go on then........whats it called  |

If you google battery box fitting, I found a couple of threads this was the best one http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/new-battery-tray-154812.html So cut out the old and rivet in the new. ...........Peter, as in blue peter.........I'll get my coat. Just been out for a test drive and it feels a lot more responsive, not surprising really as the IC pipe was being held on with cable ties, so must have been loosing boost.
I have just had a look at the upper rear ball joint and as I thought its knocking so that needs to be replaced, but I knew that. As it knocks every time I change gear.  You cant polish a turd!

Collecting new wheels tonight,
Freestyles from a Discovery ES, (grey inserts) I have become addicted to silicone. Will be getting a the full collant kit in blue for the next purchace. And I am happy to report that it seems to have worked, It also pulls so much better, I can get to 60 now with no effort at all. Where as before I was struggling to get to 50 and keep it there.
