You only need 2 wires to make the pump operate.... the other 2 are for the fuel level sender.
where the chassis loom comes up under the bonnet, you'll have 3 plugs... an orange (i think), a white or grey, and a 2 pin oval shaped one. the oval shaped is the fuel pump feed. Fairly beefy wires, but off the top of my head I'm not sure which way they go around.... you could undo the fuel feed pipe off the engine and then turn the ing on, see if fuel pumps out... if not then it's wired backwards! |

Figured that out in the end, and once I realised there should be a 12v supply to the starter motor (doh) she fired up! Got an electrical problem somewhere as when I connect the battery the headlights came on and the switch is off, indicators don't work and the wipers won't turn off! 1996 Defender 130 converted to TD5 and auto 1975 Triumph Stag 3.0 V8 |
