Front one is just aft of the transfer box on the LH chassis rail. Rear one mounts on the A-frame crossmember.
Tdci has a different position rear mount to Td5 as the centre box is positioned further aft on the pipe to clear the handbrake drum (as LT230 is further aft in a Tdci than in a Td5). All the Tdci vehicles I have seen have had the rear mount welded onto crossmember whereas Td5 ones are bolted. That's great, thank you.
Front is same. Rear on mine seems to be further back, td5 mid pipe, plus the hanger comes off the back of the silencer rim as opposed to the pipework behind the silencer as your picture shows. Whole lot on mine seems further back though. Maybe I need a new mount on the pipe rather than the box. Will do some measuring. Difference is, straight pipe, no silencer is illegal,im just about to fit a center silencer removing the straight through pipe.and im hoping it will be a bit quieter at least. The sound with a straight through exhaust is really loud, and makes every one look at me if i put my foot down!

i have a straight through pipe fitted and removed it as firstly its too loud and secondly i think my system needs more resistance in the exhaust backflow Cheers James 110 2010 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

the loudness i can agree. However back pressure for the td5 is not necessary. The turbo provides plenty of backpressure, better to just upgrade the turbo than keep a restrictor but the cost is significant.
Ideally you want the most air DENSITY, in the combustion chamber. By doing so you want to exhaust as much or all gases in the chamber too allow the freshest air via intake in the chamber to get a quicker, smooth and cleaner combustion. This will give you better performance and spool the turbo quicker. next you would want to remap or upgrade the turbo for max performance but without you would be fine. |

Ol, straight through pipe louder than needs to be, not great on longer trips for the ears. Picks up quick but overboosts and goes to reduced fueling. Mid silencer fitted, better on ears doesn't over boost. M57 230bhp. Cheers

I can confidently say I have never had an overboost issue since my straight through exhaust. I mean you could adjust the wastegate or add a boostbox. I have neither, I just time my shifts better.

provided your point, i would reinstall a silencer but if its okay, install a straight through resonator.
