Re not getting fully cold , if you look at the valve you will likely see it’s not fully closing. To rectify this you can fit a spring on the valve. There is a topic on here with pics to show the spring conversion. https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic78660...lve+spring Edit- added link to spring mod topic Last edited by Ianh on 26th Oct 2025 10:03am. I have found the Mud Heat Deflector can make you feel “less hot” as it diverts the air blast forward into the footwell rather than onto your leg..but no adjustment. At least with Puma you do get hot…and the Air Con is very good too ( as long as your air con condenser is not in pieces as they often are) Clemmo

The condenser looks good, it's not lost any vanes. l can't complain about the heat output of the system, it's like a furnace

The design of heater valve is supposed to be paired with a heater box that blends heated and cooled air to increase the efficiency of the AC system. It doesn't regulate hot coolant flow in relation to cable travel. Bit of pain, true, but actually having HEAT is such a plus, I don't mind at all. You can't fit a volume control type of heater valve as the flow through the heater hoses is important in the rather complicated cooling system.
