Hey folks,
Currently got the exhaust manifold sitting on my bench. It's not warped but has all of the webs intact. Before I refit it, is it worth running a hacksaw down the webs...?? Cheers, Dave. 2002 Land Rover 110 Td5 Utility 1980 Yamaha RD 350LC 1976 Yamaha RD 400C |

Thank you very much - a couple of quick hacksaw cuts was exactly what I was thinking of...
You've saved me a great deal of trouble. Now, do you know anything about removing snapped drills from exhaust manifolds...π 'cos that's what I've just done, trying to drill out a sheared bolt on the EGR blank.... It's been one of those days....π’π’π’π 2002 Land Rover 110 Td5 Utility 1980 Yamaha RD 350LC 1976 Yamaha RD 400C |

as above some folk say leave well alone and some say slot with a big grinding disc.
we tend to find total removal is best option and then a coat of heat resistant paint . for broken drill bit removal. a small hole saw can work. as can a decent set of extractors, all depends how much you can grab onto |

Thanks Gents - appreciated π
I'm going to leave it alone (apart from the bloody drill bitπ€¬) - it's nearly 24 years old and covered 179k miles - it doesn't need my ham-fisted attempts to 'improve' it... ππ Cheers, Dave 2002 Land Rover 110 Td5 Utility 1980 Yamaha RD 350LC 1976 Yamaha RD 400C |
