Doors unlocking and setting off alarm
Hey folks,
Got a really odd issue with my 2015 110. Only just started and no idea why. When I lock on the fob, after maybe 2-3 seconds it unlocks and sets off the alarm. Any ideas what might be the cause?
Cheers

Sticky grease in drivers door lock system or a new central locking actuator in drivers door would be my thoughts.

The lock or the mech behind it is not thrown far enough so solenoid arm doesn't extend all the way. It tries to for a set period then retracts.this then usually results in the horn sounding twice. I've not had the alarm go before with these symptoms.

You get the same when door locks freeze.

Investigate door mech on both front doors. Cheers

I had the same problem, and this is what solved it.

My door panel was somewhat not attached fully, which prevented the plastic locking part at the top of the door not to slide properly. What helped was to make sure that all clips were in place and that the panel was not dangling around.

Additionally, when I took the panel off to check all clips and co. I greased all mechanical parts with WD-40. I also put some silicon on the plastic locking part, but not too much.

And what finally helped was to lock the door with the key a few times.

Since doing these three steps, I never had an issue again, plus after greasing everything, made the window go up far smoother.

Hope it helps,

Regards
Ben

For me (TD5), the yellow wire running through the rubber trucking between the door and the bulkhead had broken.

I just gently pulled on the wires until I found the broken one then made the repair, no need to buy a replacement loom.

good point, you could just have a broken supply line to a solenoid. so its not locking the door but in my experience it just locks the other door(s) and does nothing else leaving you with one unlocked door. Cheers
