I disagree with that, you should not be so categorical and respect the tastes of others in my opinion, I tell you this because I, for example, in its day I could choose between the two dashboards, I did not go on request I bought my Defender directly at the dealership choosing between several options available in 90 and 110, and I was able to decide to have the 100% Digital and the mixed “so ugly” as you call it and I kept this option, and I do not regret it, and today I like it much more than a simple digital screen that I already had the possibility to use many times too, even so this seems to me an aesthetic success, I have the same information and I think it gives it a slightly more exclusive touch with a hint of classic car of a lifetime, not everything is going to be technological, I also like analog things. That's why I think you should respect the tastes of others and not be so categorical... since I don't think they would improvise that solution on the fly due to Covid... I think it was an option and in the end the cheap option to manufacture prevailed, that is, the digital panel... which is much cheaper to manufacture... You are indeed correct. I should have considered the opinion of others. So I have removed the comment. Its interesting juxtaposing the international situation compared to what I see at my local dealer.... where Defenders are stacking up like cordwood now. There are 8 new ones on the lot according to their website and half of those are unsold 2024's. Combined with the 8!!! used Defenders on the lot - a wide variety of (US spec of course) I4's, I6's, V8's, colors and options are available. There's a number of new ones in UK on both LR's own site and autotrader, some 25.5my some 26my. If I could get my deposit back I could have a new one not quite my spec within 5 days, but as mine was only 2 weeks from build complete I would loose deposit if I cancelled now.

There’s already a vulture website popped up suggesting there could be legal remedy for the customers affected by the data breach. (Not more cold calls, I’ve had enough of the diesel ones!) Whenever I’ve looked at the stock vehicles they always seemed to have a premium attached, and didn’t have the features I wanted. I’ll probably just sit it out, if the vehicle eventually gets delivered with the spec I wanted, great. If not, I’ll consider what is missing and whether it is worth waiting a further 6-12 months to try ordering again. Interesting to hear about the stock availability in the states. This is very true. I was able to purchase a standard S spec 110 D250 in black last week. The issue is that even although the car is in stock, they can’t register it. There is apparently a manual back up system but it’s pot luck if your car gets picked to register. I got the good news a few hours ago that I can pick my Defender up on Monday at 10am. I can’t wait. I would have loved a higher spec but in all honesty the S spec was all I could afford. To me it’s a stunner and I can’t wait to get it. Good luck in whatever you choose mate. |

You will have a nice smile on your face as you drive it out the dealership for sure. As they are great vehicles. Make sure you get the details for the complimentary off-roading session. (It seems not all dealers promote this as much as they should). It’s good fun, and worth not missing out on.

Yep. The big problem is setting a precedent. Why would a company take precautions if they know the government will bail them out? Priority needs to be on interest free loans to the supply chain, but that didn't end well in covid. |
