Ha! Not sold yet. No mad rush, mine isn’t coming until November, but the sooner you get your offers in, the sooner it’s yours!!

Got the bulkhead to fit next week, then I’ll give it a crack on motorway.

Motorway worked ok for us selling our Mini.
The key is giving an accurate description and photos…the webpage steers you
If not…when the trader arrives they will try to chip away at the agreed price.
It literally costs you nothing.
You can pull out at any time too Thumbs Up

I guess Motorway, like many of these online portals, is luck of the draw.

I’ve had three goes at Motorway, two with company cars I wanted to let go of and one my own personal vehicle. All were described exactly as they were and, if anything, I over emphasised any marks. All were full main dealer service history and in good condition without any issues.

First one the offers were pitiful and not even close to the WBAC price or, more importantly, the Motorway guide. Second one, had a bunch of tin-pot traders show interest with one committing to buy and then doing a no-show and then ‘ghosting’ as the youth say. Third (should have known better) lower bid than estimate but ‘dealer’ showed up and then proceeded to try and renegotiate. No reason other than he had ‘cash in hand’. Needless to say, he left empty handed and I ended up part-exing it.

Co1, your Commercial looks great and is nicely specced. I’m surprised that the dealer supplying the new one doesn’t want it. My Commercial (newer than yours but also a nice spec) is going back to the dealer who is supplying my new one (non-commercial) and they put together an offer that made it pointless looking elsewhere. The inference is there are still plenty of Commercial buyers who are interested in nicely, well, specced 90s.

Are the motorway estimate prices over-inflated just so that they get people to sign up to the process?

(Lovely looking car btw)

Not from my experience of selling through them, it’s the minimum reserve they put on the car. So you may get more, which I did when selling one of my vehicles.

In my case it was actually bought by the main dealer that I first bought the car from.

Not for me I'm afraid. Got pushy and wanted me to accept £18900. Their valuation was £21500. Carwow were better but it was too much faff in the end, so the dealer had it at 20k

Dealer is my backstop. I’m not getting the new one until November, so thought I’d see if I could get a couple of quid more between now and then.
