[For Sale] 2023 Defender 90 HT - £41,500 no VAT to pay.

Just ordered a 110, so the 90 has to go. Tasman Blue 90 Commercial. SE with cold climate pack, matrix LED headlights, side steps and full Windsor leather. 27400 miles but will rise about 400 miles a month. Full LR service history and warranty until May ‘26. Has only ever been run on premium diesel. Will get a full valet in and out before the sale.

The bulkhead is removed as you can see, but can be re-installed for the sale. If you would rather it stay out then I will knock £500 off. If you want the dog box, you can have that on me!!

There were a couple of deep scratches on the inside of the back door, so I have had the whole panel completely re painted and it’s now spotless. Externally there are a few small scratches, but nothing I could capture on camera, just typical age related stuff.

There seems to be a bit of consternation around recommended oil changes being too long on the ingenium engine. Being firmly in the camp of prevention being better than cure, the oil was changed by me at 5 and 10k miles using genuine oil and filters (can provide receipts), then by the dealer at 20k.

£41,500 with no VAT to pay. It’s the cheapest I can find in the UK so it’s a reasonably firm price, but I’d be open to sensible offers.

The private plate will be removed and it will be back on an age related plate.

That is a good price, basically £20,000 under list and it's as good as new.

Thanks lightening. It actually better than that! With the lights, leather and cold pack, it was over £66k new.

It's a bargain but the issue with private sales is, 90% of people buy on PCP. l've had mine on sale for ages at £41,000 but no interest at all.

l looked and the cheapest similar one at a dealer is around £50,000. But also buying from a dealer the VAT can be reclaimed on a Commercial, saving 20%. So that £50,000 Defender becomes £40,000

I actually bought mine with a bank loan, so l own it. l paid off some of the loan with the
tax savings from putting the purchase through my limited company. Sadly l am not VAT registered so couldn't claim the VAT back.

Very true. Not sure if listing it through auto trader would give other financing options, but thought I’d put it up here for a month or so as I’d rather it goes to a bit of an enthusiast.

Have you tried Motorway? They think mine is worth £40,000 and yours is a year newer.

Are the motorway estimate prices over-inflated just so that they get people to sign up to the process?

l don't know, but it's different than WBAC in that dealers bid for your vehicle and the one with the highest bid comes to you and buys it.

You don't have to accept the highest bid, you can decline.

Try it out - in my experience Motorway is exactly as Jerry described it, with the added bonus of dodgy dealers bidding on your car and then not even following through with the purchase.

Not from my experience of selling through them, it’s the minimum reserve they put on the car. So you may get more, which I did when selling one of my vehicles.

In my case it was actually bought by the main dealer that I first bought the car from.

l assume Co1 is going to try Motorway with his Defender for sale in this thread. Hopefully he'll report back to say it sold for the figure quoted (or more) And then we'll all be wishing we'd bought it for £41,000 and then done the same ourselves!
