That looks great, but I'm not sure how affective the roll cage would be if it ever got tested in anger.

A Pinzy has always been on my vehicle bucket list!

I think it's a brush/tree guard not a roll cage.

I think you are right Blackwolf Thumbs Up

that sounds like the mk1 200 which featured on Mrs bucket Tv series thing. Those i believe were Honda based, and i think its relation may have been the earlier triumph acclaim, which was just a Honda with a triumph badge. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Oh yes! Not sure when I will get back to Dorset again, if ever, but I hope I see that. I can see myself going down and internet wormhole today!

Whilst the Morgan 4/4 is technically still in production, and you do see the odd one on the road, the ladder chassis cars were never common and are now quite a rare sight. The CX Morgans are nothing like the traditional ones really (but are still great fun). I've owned this one from new - collected directly from the factory 14th April 1987. It was ordered at the Motor Show in 1982. It's still mainly on original paint, has very little (almost no) rust but a small amount of galvanic corrosion (Morgan, bless 'em used alloy for the wings but rolled the edge around a steel wire - with nothing between the two). The wood frame is 100% sound. The engine, gearbox and rear axle are all matching numbers. The engine, a 1600 CVH, was rebuilt around 10 years ago and is developing around 110bhp at the wheels at around 6000rpm. I have the same problems as others have mentioned re: getting through the emissions side of an MOT - but that is only a problem for the next 2 years as it's now 38 years old! I will actually have a check done every year but will just skip the emissions bit.

It has been out this morning but I'll be honest - it doesn't get wet any more - wings are basically unavailable and other bits are getting scarce (CVH Lucas ancillaries, the rear axle, although a Salisbury, uses internals that aren't found on most, the gearbox is Sierra derived and windscreen surrounds are almost impossible to source (as I most recently discovered when had to replace the glass and the surround wouldn't split). Bumpers too, for this model, are almost non-existent.

Saw a nice red French registered Escort RS turbo yesterday outside of Cirencester. Couldn't get a pic though.

From the last few weeks. The engine of MG with wire wheels started quicker and better than my 90!

I have seen a couple of those raced in the scotland, they are very quick cars, the very 1st time i saw one was on holiday, a bloke had a campervan, and one of these parked beside it, it was on a transporter. So he must have been worth a few quid. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

It wasn't me! It has never, ever been on a trailer!! It has crossed my mind but the cost of the motorhome puts me off.

This one has done the odd hill climb over its life. It's relatively quick (up until about 60 mph - it's about as slippy through the air as a Series 1) remembering what it is - almost 40 years old, 130bhp max at the flywheel - but also under 800kg (less when hill climbed without bumpers, spare wheel and any other bits that could easily be removed. It feels a lot quicker than it actually is.

Was the blue and silver Capri only done for the 1.6 Laser? (That’s a question for Capri afficianardos s I really can’t remember).
The 2.8i in my memory always seemed to be in black.

You might not like the Capri but the new electric Ford Capri looks nothing like the original. Not sure why companies reuse a car name from years gone by.

Do you think Ford will ever make another Anglia or Prefect?

Ford like many others lost the plot years back.............
never expressed an opinion on the old Crappi simply used a term that was current when they were and yes the 2.8 injection was Blue / Silver
