United Kingdom 1994 Defender 110 300 Tdi ST Coniston Green
Just to second comments above. Regardless of if you deal direct with the third party or go through insurance. Keep the vehicle in your possession at ALL times! Any/all inspections and assessments are done while you wait. DO NOT hand over custody of YOUR car to anyone until the repair is agreed. Far to many cases of clearly repairable vehicles being 'stolen' from their owners to feed the highly leveraged salvage market that sell these valuable vehicles on to be repaired or cloned while making a hefty margin for the management companies that add on eye watering fees for various related services.

Your car, not your fault, you're in charge. Keep it that way!

Scott,

I’m so sorry to see those photos, I was admiring it at the steam fair. Hopefully soon it will be back to its former beauty.

Where did the accident happen?

The other party’s insurer cannot financially write off your car, only yours can do that. Your claim is against the other party (via their insurer), so be clear with your own insurer about that.
