Fascinating set of faults
Mistakenly let some kids including mine play in my Puma while I was helping at a fete at the weekend.

Symptoms after driving off:

1. Both indicators ‘stuck’ on at the same time, then went off, now fine.
2. Fog light button illuminated, then went off and now doesn’t work.
3. Traction control light illuminated, button now doesn’t do anything.
4. Cruise control no longer works - no lights on the stalk, no response, nothing.

Any ideas?!

May be just coincidence and nothing to do with the kids. I have a bad battery drain which had almost flattened the battery when I set off to the fete.

Cheers!

You should consider looking for and tracing the drain fault, as there is a parasitic load there for that to happen.

If you’ve got faults between different circuits then it’s likely a common ground fault, and that is often the main ground on Defenders which can cause all sorts of strange issues, across different circuits.
There is a rear loom ground on the side of the transmission too with two eyes on, but the main ground can often be the culprit.

The parasitic drain will be something powered at rest that shouldn’t be or left on that is connected permanently live that’s housing be.

An energised Relay coil, that has been wrongly wired up is perfectly capable of causing battery drain, if the coil should happen to be fed permanent live power as an example.

A Multimeter will be your friend here. Thumbs Up _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___

When I got my 110 Td5, the temp sensor would shoot up every time the AC kicked in. Obvious fault (earth) which caused a whole host of other issues. Car ran fine. They all do that said the buyer, nothing to worry about.. I suppose if you never look at your instruments. Still got me a reasons for a discount, so was worth it. Fixed after I sorted out a whole bunch wiring issues that got messed with and needed fixing.
