They were certainly standard on series LWB pickups.
They are to slide items in when loading, and not structural. You could just fill the holes with rivets before painting the bed? |

My 1994 110 had/has those strips. They were crusty and mostly loose when I bought it 10 years ago but I cleaned them up and gave a few coats of black paint before riveting then back down then threw a rubber mat over them. They're still there as far as I know?

My 1996 has got these metal strips in and are still good, as said, they are very help full to slide items in and out which i do
