Sounds like you solved the problem with a new battery. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

![]() Click image to enlarge The above is at rest, but with Alternator Charging current is at the slightly lower end of what would be expected. Is the voltage whilst running stable or relatively. You shouldn’t really see too much more than 200mV / 0.2v each way fluctuation at idle. _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___ ___\⭐️Lone|Star|State/___ ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

![]() Click image to enlarge Thanks for the info, guys. I just want to point out that I’ve been driving a Defender since I was tall enough to reach the pedals, but this is the first time something like this has ever happened to me. I’ll repeat the experience to make sure I didn’t imagine it. I left home and drove 20 minutes for 17 km. I stopped for 30 minutes. I restarted the car without any issue and hit the road again. After 5 minutes, I started to feel a loss of power—mild at first, but it quickly got worse. The loss of power became so severe that I had to stop. The engine was barely running, and the injectors were making a loud clacking noise. I turned off the engine, but after that, it wouldn’t restart: there were no dashboard lights at all. I checked the relays and fuses, but nothing seemed out of place. Finally, the tow truck brought me home. Once I got there, I installed a new battery, and everything started working again as if nothing had happened. It’s truly incredible—I never would have thought a dead battery could cause a scenario like this. I will continue investigating to see if a grounding issue might be the cause of this battery problem. It’s all to help our Land Rover community! And if anyone ever visits Guadeloupe, I’d be happy to meet up. See you soon, friends, and don’t hesitate to share your thoughts. In the meantime, cheers to your health! |

sounds like you had a totally dead cell that was not allowing the current from the alternator to recharge the battery........

Here in Guadeloupe, it’s incredibly hot, and the salty sea air is tough on everything. So, anything is possible!
