CarPlay Apple Maps - Dash View
Is there any way to get the 'next turn' information in the dash display when using Apple Maps through CarPlay?

For me all I get in the dash is a moving map with 'Total Trip' information at the bottom, which is mostly useless, and I have to keep referring to the central screen to check my next turn. I don't care to have the map on the dash at all, all that's really important is the critical information of how far until my next turn/exit, which would seem to be the most crucial information to display in the drivers eyeline.

Cheers

No unfortunately. I have the same issue. It’s very limited on the dash display.

What I have noticed is that the orientation changes on the dash according to whether you’re viewing the map on the pivi screen or not. I always have the pivi set to direction of travel up, and the dash always displays opposite way ie North up. Go to the Home Screen and it changes the dash to dot up! 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

How entirely frustrating. Is it any better with Google Maps? Haven't had chance to try yet.

Have you considered using a different App for maps? _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___

Google maps is dire via apple play. It put the vehicle in a very odd place on the screen.

Sometimes it’s glitches or a miss match between iOS versions and or App update, though.
That being said, you can have both updated and a new glitch appear. Rolling Eyes

Though I don’t use the Apps mentioned here, I found it wouldn’t be uncommon if you had it set up to receive a phone call and that would knock out the sat nav, and even if you end the call etc it’d still have it knocked out and the sat nav wouldn’t revert back to use.
That would mean literally having to pull over and set it up again just because of an incoming phone call.
That has been ironed out with updates, you can report issues or suggest bug fixes one some systems.

Though finding the menu to do that might take some time even on the phone on a site for it.
It’s usually there somewhere on their web site but actually finding it can be a real pain. _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___
