90 TDCI rear passenger side creaking

My 90 Softop is making some weird noises around the passenger side rear corner area. Unfortunately the local specialist is unable to review for 4 weeks.

It sounds like a squeal, creak (no knocking nor banging) or as I originally thought a dog in the back! Admittedly it was doing this on occasion, at only low speed uneven road conditions for past 2-300ish miles but it didn't occur to me what / where it was coming from. However now, as soon as I drive it keeps making the noise until I stop.

I jumped on the rear tow bar and it made the noise then and was much located toward the passenger rear corner .

Anything obvious I can do / look at?

2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Zermatt Silver

There’s isnt many bushes on a Defender. So I’d start with shock bushes and A-Frame ball joint. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

lf yours is fitted with a rear anti roll bar l have found this often happens with the drop links.

Right it's stopped.. for now.

Please don't shoot me down

but I sprayed a little WD40 over the offending corners shock absorber bushes and creaks stopped instantly. Perhaps not the correct approach (and google seems to suggest plenty of horror lies ahead

..) but it's booked in anyway so if anything needs working on it can get sorted then.

It’s a good way of process of elimination. No wrong doing there. Sounds like you’ve found the issue quick. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.
