I have had some down time, after loosing my buddy, now i am back on it, I have decided to get on and sort this bloody oil leak, The oil filter housing has failed, so i managed to find a replacement unit,
![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge the old one looking a right mess ![]() Click image to enlarge After looking at where things were, i ended up having to drop the oil out and change the filters. Due to where the bolts were located for this. removed and a good spray down with brake cleaner and carb cleaner ![]() Click image to enlarge A bit of a battle getting that out was it not! ![]() Click image to enlarge A battle getting the replacement back in too. ![]() Click image to enlarge I changed the filter in this, i think the old one had been over tightened, which ![]() But now its nice to have a clean engine bay on one side! I am not sure about tackling the starter motor job, as it seems to be throwing over fine now?? Also i revamped the rear anti roll bar, My dad was right about him suspecting it had seized, and which would explain why the driver side damper failed twice. Me and my dad had made a start on replacing the rear dampers, and i decided to replace everything with polybushes. I had left him in charge on removing the exhaust back box while i was at work, and he had removed the old units ready for me to jump on it after i finished work. As the 306s clutch was on the verge of going, ( well i thought) So the rear end of the defender is now sorted out. with bliestines ( spelling) new droplinks and polybushes. I have the front do to, which i may role out in the next few weeks, as i wanted to sort the leak out 1st. As i think the oil maybe causing the electrical problems. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge its going to have to have a new rear crossmember on, as the driver side mudflap has gone lol. The MOT tester said he knew who could sort that, when i can the wages.
