1997 130 tdi with bad chassi
hello!

as subject say, my -97 130tdi ( 300k/km on the clock) have a quite bad chassi, some door rust, but bulkead is quite ok.

whisch way to go? scrapher, sell her as it is or rapair. Im not near a craftman what comes to welding and metal repair...and get it welded by someone else is economical disaster?

what do you advice?

replace the chassis and get a good many more years use from it.

It's a desirable build. It would be insane to scrap it.

I'm sure Richards or someone would do a galvanized chasiss at a price, so it's worth way more than scrap, or the even breaking (as 300tdi parts are common enough) to be sold as a vehical.

I look at 130s often, but then remember I have an excess of projects as it is!

Please don't scrap it!

I'd love a 130 one day and a 300 would be dreamy! The more heading to the offroad course in the sky the harder they'll be to get hold of! The Yeti - 110 Camper https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic90308.html

Maer chassis in Poland… saves you taxes. Maybe cheaper than Sweeden to do it there too.
But as others mentioned, a 130 should be saved.

In 2 years time it is 30 years old, and I could afford to scratch an itch Whistle 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
