When you say no faults , do you see any lights flashing on the dash while the pump is operating..I think that would be normal , but again just from memory.. I'm sure I've seen my stability control light flashing when the traction controller kicks in and think I've seen similar when the abs is working..
Can only think that the abs is seeing a wheel signal that is indicating a lock up and actuation.. Could only suggest a check of all the wheel sensors and if you had access to a tool that showed live data for the abs ecu... |

No warning lights at all. Abs and stability appear to work fine other than the pump running when braking at 2-3 mph occasionally. I’ve measured all the resistance of the sensors and they appear ok. What diagnostic program do I need?

The other factor is the air gap or state of the reluctor ring,( cracked etc ) even though the sensor coil itself appears OK..
This was touched on the other day.. Ian pointed out that the standard obd protocol did give codes for abs, but you have no visible faults logged and I'm suggesting that you need a scan tool that is capable of live data from the abs ecu.. even then I'm not sure what it would actually show..and again I'm not at home to try my tool.. I use a scope usually.. that is capable of looking at the signals generated at the wheel sensors and showing any anomalies that the ecu would react to... |
