I get a wave from a few Grenadiers around here so I wave back, it seems they appreciate where their vehicle developed from. On the whole (and I appreciate not all), I find the L663s are more concerned about their own self importance and getting to their destination at 100mph no matter what. They have no idea what heritage they have bought into Sad

If I get a wave from a 'proper Defender' it truly makes my day, best club to be in by far Thumbs Up Makes the rest of the daily s**t I have to put up with slightly more bearable!

I don't think I've ever been involved in a vehicle scene that is as friendly as the Defender one.

We have an 06 subaru forester which also comes with a wave scene, but whilst everyone wants lower and faster and noisier, I quite enjoyed the relatively civil driving of it being standard and I somewhat felt quite out of place amongst the mad tuners with that car.

On the flip side, so many Defender owners have been so friendly, we nearly froze to death in halfrauds carpark the other day chatting to another defender owner about is very tidy Td5 90. Rolling with laughter The Yeti - 110 Camper https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic90308.html

When I saw my first Grenadier coming the other way a few months back, I couldn't help myself but lift 'the finger of mutual respect'. (No, not that finger - the polite one).
I reckon anyone who has bought one must be a committed 4x4 enthusiast, so we could probably be mates. Cool
Classic Rangies also get a wave from me.

I nearly waved at a Grenadier thinking it was a defender but just saw the width was wider at the front than normal. If anyone waves to me i auto wave back as Millie is well known around these parts Very Happy 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

A local factory makes some of the bits for these, I am about to start a new job with them, but i think my current work place is wanting me to stay put. So things are up in arms for me sadly. Do i stay or start life new Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
