sandblasted
I'm going toget my chassis sandblasted for my 90 rebuild and want some info for painting it.

Option 1 is to etch prime it and undercoat + paint it with 2k auto paint.
Option 2 is epoxy prime and paint with 2k.

Which would you think is better.Galvanising is not an option here. Puma 110 SW

I'd go for a zinc rich primer such as Unidox followed by an enamel top coat such as Woco Supercote. Provides a very tough finish. Darren

Acid convert any surface residual rust after blasting and one layer of POR-15 you won't see rust again. Don't forget it's equally as important to treat the inside of your chassis with a spray rust converter and cavity application Thumbs Up

They came to do a test and sprayed a type of liquid after (acid) and a week later with the chassis been outside, there is no sign of rust. Puma 110 SW

blast it then quickly paint it with Tetrosyl chassis paint. no need for primer or etcher.

you mustnt wait long to paint it after its been blasted, try to do it same day.

POR 15 is good stuff, but bear in mind that it's not UV stable so needs to be covered up if it's going to be a rolling chassis for any length of time. It's also not the best choice for the exposed rear crossmember. Darren

(scuttles off to Google it)

Oh yes, so you can Rolling Eyes It's been a while since I last looked at it for this application.

I still prefer a nice, heavy, zinc-rich primer though Smile Darren

Epoxy primed the chassis today.Looks sweat, but took me 2 hours to spray as the little hidden cavities were trying to get the better of me.I won though. Puma 110 SW
