Hi, I am fitting the attached new ignition barrel, do I need to program the the key to the car in any way, and if so how? Thanks

I completed the work this week, it turned out there was some programming (ish) to accept the key using the key fob.

The ignition switch/barrel is definitely not an item which requires programming, so you've had to have that done for some other reason.

I bet that other reason was the fob needed a resync, ie. with doors shut press fob lock button four times in quick succession then unlock button once.
Which would have been nothing to do with the barrel being replaced. |

My 2008had an ignition barrel change and no programming was required. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
