If someone can get me a fiberglass copy shell of this i would love to rebody the bowler like that, it would make a cracking racer. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Enjoying following this thread, I just hope LR designers are following the reception of the DC100 on here.
As core owners and daily users this first design appears a long way off what we were hoping for to carry the icon forward. If anyone has found some words from LR to jusify the DC100 (other than a Pedestrian safe design!) can they post the link.

C'mon LR designers, think evolution not revolution, square box, round lights, body furniture, alpine windows, high seat position, to give just a few pointers (as illustrated by some great submissions on this thread). Tweak the DC100 to be a Land Rover not a Gaylander. Change the face to one we instantly recognise of the icon so the heritage is not lost.

Integrated chassis, independant suspension. etc..

I drove a D4 over the Atlas mountains and sahara. I was told that the D4 suspension was tested with 7 people plus loaded roof rack and they couldn't break it. If they could simplify it and build it cheap I wouldn't complain. Exceptional ride comfort over rough terrain. Definitely don't want push button start though. Had a scary moment in the middle of nowhere where it wouldn't respond. Keys start every time or at least turn over ! 110 HT TD5 - 110 XS SW Puma

I suppose proven suspension from the D4 is good, I guess the only people who would disagree are the people who wish to fit 35" plus tyres. Does the D4 have a separate chassis? I would still like the new defender to be truck like but solid axles are a bit old now with diminishing advantages over IFS.

The Mrs cooper s had a ignition barrel failure, needed a new barrel as it would turn but not start the car. Only 5 years old.

Mad So Land Rover is going to keep the Defender in the same market as they are in now !!!! What the , market is that ?????????? The no blip on a radar market , get some balls and compete . The DEFENDER created land rover/range rover in the utility market , isnt it time to win back the market share they once had !!! Wasnt that long ago a skoda waz a joke like a defender is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rolling with laughter
