If that ever makes it to production and when I change my car, I promise I will leave the LR brand forever. I would honestly rather buy a Jeep Wrangler. That vehicle in the image is a complete abomination to the brand and history and I personally find it offensive that the company would be so reckless and disregard any opinion and brand loyalty from the people that held LR afloat during the recession. I know of many dealers who said that sales of the Defender (both new and second hand) held them afloat during the recession whilst sales of Range Rovers and Discoveries dried up.

To produce a vehicle which purely by looking at it will barely meet the needs of most stalwart Defender owners is a sure way to create a failure. Those ridiculous wheels and low profile tyres, the complete lack of approach angle and I wonder how long it will take to rip the front bumper and ugly plastic silver painted front valence off when you follow a REAL Defender through some heavy ruts????

Can you imagine how few accessories will be available and what use they will be? How will anyone fit a 2" lift and decent articulation? How will it cope with 35" tyres?

I was going to be selling my little 06 green immaculate 90 pick up but it looks like it might be going up in value quite quickly in the near future Very Happy Very Happy

I thought that they were working on 'Project Icon' nobody mentioned Project Noddy Car Laughing

Land Rover needs to get the new Defender into America to make money and take on the F150 and Toyota Hilux - that version looks better suited to the Indian market to take on the Mahindra.

Dont do it chaps you have got the other models so right dont feck this one up.

Well,

Someone can said that this is a nice car and I could be agree (If they change several things in the model starting by the wheels)...

But I don't think that this model can serve as a workinghorse like the current Defender. I don't see it loading piles of trees inside or a large group to the Patagonia, towing a trailer with garbage out of the farm or be washed inside using the garden hose.

A nice try, more similar to the Toyota than the Wrangler approach and not useful at least for me.
Several iconic things has been lost (neat straight lines, the alpine window, etc)

I hope that they can solve it before going in production. If not I can keep mine for a long time.

Cheers Eduardo
