Have just removed the earth strap, where it mounts to the chassis on the crimp lug is all split and corroded so guessing when it stalled it just finished it off by pulling it maybe with the movement of the stall.

Anyway, question is do i necessarily need to mount to the chassis with a crimp lug or could i run a earth to the chassis point and then from the same point run another to the transfer box?

Form battery down to transfer box in one piece, then back up to the chassis with next piece

She is alive! Decided to split the original cable where the damage was and put a lug on each end to mount on chassis, fires up straight away. Thanks all for the help, and sorry for making the assumption te earth in the first place, goes to show most of the time its always the simplest of things.
