Interesting that the odometer simply stops working at 999999 rather than rolling over to 0. I wonder about the legality of that.

Interesting - is there any law covering the odometer?

I'm quarter of the way there with both my Disco2 and my Defender. At the current rate the Defender would reach the million mile mark in about 20 years.

It would be good if you got both of them to that, but by then they probably will be banned from the roads or taxed to death by the powers that be at the time Neutral

One lad I used to work with didn't believe me about the mileage lorries have. Until the lad who was driving it backed me up, he said this one has about quarter of a million now.
He was like Shocked after been told that. I said the laugh is they can go for fun! Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Great vehicle the discovery 2, says a lot about the td5 engine, however I guess it was mainly long journeys and warm climate that helps.

Forgive me, poor phrasing. I mean lorries that tick over to 1,000,000 within a given year.

150,000+ miles per year is not uncommon in the haulage industry, bearing in mind if the lorry isn’t moving it’s not making money. Doesn’t take many years to get to a million at that rate.

My bad - I knew what you meant but couldn't get the other thought out of my mind...I wonder if any manufacturer would ever take on that challenge?
