A fall back in that situation would be the good old Sankey, bit of tarting up, perhaps a different tub to meet your needs. Mine has a 110 Hi-Cap tub fitted now with a matching Ifor canopy. I hang a 10' caravan awning on the side for camping or just use a tent that's chucked in. Most years on camping trips with friends it gets loaded up with bikes when we go greenlaning, the bikes get ridden on the downhills and easier bits then loaded back up and on to the next bit. It's traveled Whitestones and Wayfarers a few times now Thumbs Up

I'm in the finishing stages of the Sankey conversion route, not sure of the final cost yet but including buying the trailer, tent, electrics, metalwork, canvas cover etc... it comes in at around £6k. The Howling Moon tent as pictured on some of the trailers in this topic are presumably available cheaper and easier than when we bought ours as we got ours from Trek before the new distributor dropped the HM prices through the floor.

I'm a big fan of the Sankey trailer, especially for towing behind a 90, it's very easy to tow as it's wheels follow the rear wheels of the 90 regardless of how tight you turn and, bing the same width as the 90 bodywork, it's pretty easy to reverse as you can line it up with the body in the mirrors and see how much it's turning. For the MkIII you need a boat trailer reversing valve fitting though to really make the whole thing painless.

First proper outing for ours next week so we'll see if it works as well as we've planned !

Hey up Tom! Hope you and Susie are well.

I would recommend My Way, hand built in Lincolnshire on Sankey chassis. Paul does a range of sizes and can supply a basic box or full bells and whistles with water, gas, batteries and tent.

Hi Tom. Still have Dingo, she is going strong.

Ben who built Dingo is selling his trailer if you're interested. He is in York, Google Black Paw 4x4 to get his number.

Good luck, keep us updated!

Great thread, over this winter I've been building an offroad teardrop so i thought i would let def2 guys be the first to see it, its body is 10ft x 5ft with a bespoke chassis and has a full size double mattress, 2 arb awnings the larger of which has a full awning room, the rear kitchen has fridge and storage and all lights are led. It is a prototype as i was thinking of building them for sale - cost would be around 10k with all the kit. I will be at Billing camping and also LRO peterborough if anyone wants to have a chat or just a look. Please come and say hello! Thumbs Up
