285 75 16 km2 in stock anywhere in the UK?
On the theme of my wanted ad in the for sale section, does anyone know why have bfg stopped importing km2's in this size at the moment?
Ive got one on order, but there now doubting a July shipment.
Anyone know of any suppliers with 1 in stock, ive tried the common places
Im guessing its not for a new style as its a fairly recent tread pattern.

I've noticed the usual german websites have stopped doing them as well. I'm after one as a spare. I hope they haven't discontinued that size. Sad Tom

Yeah, I think my problem with a German website was down to size aswell, there available in other sizes just not ours.
Dont think they have stopped, just delaying shipment for some reason.
Typically though a screw in a sidewall never goes in when there are loads in stock! Had to have a tube fitted while I wait which ill then use as my spare

Glad to be of help Smile

I've used Charles for the last 4 or 5 set of tyres I've bought.

His main store is on ebay and he has some interesting stuff in as he does a lot of 35 and 37 inch tyres as well!

I have experienced seasonal shortages of BFG Mud T/As in various sizes at times over the years. My local tyre supplier (for whom I have a lot of respect, and who knows his onions -as well as his tyres) says that this is generally due to the fact that BFG (owned I understand by Michelin) makes these tyres in batches rather than continuously. Since the manufacturing slot for a batch is scheduled in advance on the basis of predicted sales and is subject to the demands on the factory of all other tyres made there, very often a batch will sell out completely and there will be a drought until the next batch comes through.

That being said, there does seem to be a mroe general supply drought at the moment so perhaps the runours of the EU Regs changing have some factual basis.

the reason is that they dont meet the latest euro regs so they need to be changed. i tried to get km2's in 255,265 or 285. no dice. see my other thread on the subject.

i spoke to a shed load of companies and all said either "no firm date" or august.

Strange that they now dont meet then as are a fairly recent tread pattern and no louder than my all terrains

Sounds like I was lucky to find one then Blackwolf as would say this batch is used up from phoning around Confused

Cheers Tom
