I'm sure the new Range Rover's are great, lovely to drive etc but I just couldn't part with that kind of money and take the hit on depreciation, plus I'd feel like a bit like I was trying to make a statement about who I was, kind of trying to be a farmer or looking all exec like, I'm much happier these days in the knowledge I can afford nice things but don't need to prove I can - if that makes sense?!! Most people who have these types are financed up to the hilt anyway.
I love tootling around in my old pickup, I go everywhere in it these days, I actually like the fact that people look at me and feel sorry for me - 'look at that poor fella in that old thing!' It makes me smile more knowing what I've got tucked away.

Here it is more a matter of FFRR usually being driven by slender blondes with a flat fitness trimmed belly,

here again mostly driven by slender blondes with a flat fitness trimmed belly, and a husband with a fat wallet. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Interesting to note that a lot of sporty slender tall ponytailed blondes with flat, etc. etc. etc....... also drive Defenders here. Those are the ones with good taste. And... they invariably will return "The Defender Wave" Whistle Whistle

Was following a 14 plate FFRR yesterday in the wifes car. We were both not hanging around down some country lanes, and I think he was a bit annoyed at the juke keeping with his 100k RR Mr. Green

anyhow, he straightens up after a corner and obviously kicks it down into the carpet. Cue back end squatting under the power and then a huge puff of blue/white smoke!!! Really not a good sign on such a new vehicle. Id be annoyed if any of my vehicles did that, let alone something so new/expensive. The smoke would have easily been visible from inside the vehicle. scary Shocked

I always think it's funny when people say "I was in my joke keeping up with an supercharged 5 litre Range Rover"

Also I wouldn't be surprised if you could sell your new range rover for very little lose. The waiting list for one is massive.

Boot failed to shut again this morning and wouldn't lock. Sliding tray next to gear knob came off its mountings and is jammed. Only opened it to look in!

Air conditioning on today's journey decided to turn on from off and went to full blower. It then calmed down to slow blower and back to full again. I turned it off and it came back on again. This cycle could be stopped without stopping the engine and re starting the thing. Maybe its a feature??!

Maybe this is a Friday one?! 1951 80" S1 2.0

Read the handbook in detail, the aircon could be on auto without you knowing.

The tailgate: check the sensor that detects if it's open or not and the locks, make sure nothing has been bent or pushed in too far somehow, there must be an option on the computer to disable the safety thing that stops you from driving with it open.

Remember, It's a land rover... they are not ready for use out the box - One must fiddle with it first.

^^That's all very well for a Defender, but for a £90,000 car, it's simply not good enough for it to have that many issues when so new. An engine to TDi for!
