An observation made on another forum is that there is little input from Wales or Northern Ireland.

The question posed then is does that mean only England and Westminster want the union to survive with Wales and Northern Ireland sitting with their fingers crossed hoping for a yes vote so they can go the same way?

No matter what happens on Thursday the UK will undergo serious change if it wants to prosper and maintain if not regain it's place in the world in general.

Firstly, I have always believed in the idiom ‘United we stand, divided we fall’

Secondly, I have a distrust of all politicians, however Alex Salmond I trust less than most other politicians, it is also worrying that as a voted representative of the Scottish people he is it seems ignoring the wishes of half his country.

Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly the debate on 'Yes' and 'No' has been based on the speculation of ‘what if’ and that in any discussion sets a flawed model.

It is of course down to the Scottish people how they vote, together with a small section of English, Welsh and Irish people who because they reside in Scotland are eligible to vote. I hope that on Friday morning we wake to a United Kingdom that is still whole and not one because of the silly notion of ‘Freedom’ that some Scottish people have seized upon, divided, because if a yes vote prevails that freedom will be very short lived as the Scottish people will realise when the true ramifications of independence starts to hit home.

Still early morning, but from what I can see it looks like the Nay sayers are going to come out tops, at least early incomplete results show comfortable margin with something like 54% result up to now. Happy to see that common sense seems to prevail in your country. Thumbs Up

Probably no need to print too many of these below anymore now to go buy a pound of salmond in the coming years. Whistle

That was close but I'm glad it went in favour of the union. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

I too have worked up there for several years.....

Thought of the day.......

If the English had also been given a vote I think today Scotland would have had their independance whether they wanted it or not!

Resentment flows both ways.... If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Perhaps, after hundreds of years of whingeing, they'll accept they got a good deal in the first place and shut up Whistle Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

So when will Salmond be asking for a rematch?

Without the result he is just another politician no sane person would trust. 1970 Series 2A 88"
