Kids should be allowed and encouraged to play in the street! We are raising the next generation and they should socialise and learn. It's a public area, not a private sanctuary. In our street today, five kids, running cycling playing. No ball damage to cars, all know to respect others property, and none out after dark. It's a good thing IMHO, and it's not like it's 6am till 10pm V8 90...WIP

He likes to check our cars tax discs, tyres, takes notes on every ones coming and goings you are not allowed to walk past his house, if you park out side / block his kitchen window he will come knock on your door and tell you to move. But its ok for him to stand out side his house with an air rifle and shoot squirrels off his roof ???

Am I only the only one of the many shooters on here who finds this completely unacceptable? No safe backstop, firearms used within (one assumes) 60ft of the centre of the public highway, etc…

I’m tempted to say, next time he’s doing it, dial 999 and report a man with a gun shooting at a house…see how he likes an armed response unit. But perhaps ringing the police non-emergency number and requesting that an FEO goes over and has a quiet word with him would be a more appropriate, measured response.

As for kids playing, I am as yet a child-less wonder who is only just contemplating doing the decent thing re ‘putting a ring on it’, but kids not playing in the cul-de-sac? Come off it…kids being able to play in the street and socialise is a vital part of community spirit/insert other cliché. The kids certainly hang around our cul-de-sac, and (grasping wood firmly), I have yet to have any issues. It’s the older ne’er-do-wells with a drink problem that are the nuisance.

Drifting O/T slightly, but the OP has had some good advice thus far, so won't contradict. Real trucks don't have spark plugs

Great Thread,
As a fellow "shooter", when this old fool is sniping squirrels again, which is totally irresponsible. Please call 999.
See his reaction having a H&K MP5 pointed at him and being order to the floor.... Whistle
