I can confirm the heated screen is great when greeted with this when you finish work:

I fitted some Wipac LED indicators & Sidelights to the front of my 90 yesterday:

first impressions are good, they look almost standard & give out a good spread of light.

These look absolutely superb to my eye - are they a very simple installation?

My eye was also drawn to what looks like rust staining on the plastic - from the fastening at the bottom of your headlight?

Is there any issues with the trailer electrics or does the flasher unit compensate for filament bulbs on your trailers Mark?

Apparently if you get the Bolt On Bits relay, trailer electrics work correctly, if you get the Wipac relay, trailers don't flash at the right speed. That is what someone has said on here, not from personal experience.

Looks great Mark, any plan on LED headlights in the future? Laughing 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

Very simple installation- no wiring to worry about all plug & play. I got them from Car Builder Solutions, same place I got my NAS rear LEDs all those years ago.

Rust-stained plastic due to the corrosion of previous headlamp retaining rings, now replaced with stainless. Also took the opportunity to fit an RDX relay as I do a fair bit of towing, which gives a decent interval & trailer warning function still works.

Led headlights may follow eventually, but I'm conscious that a lot of money and not very easy to protect them. Mark S

Fitting Puma Doors
Why is it that it always starts raining just as I get the crucial bits together to do a job?!

I had to transfer the central locking & electric windows over to the new backing plates, replacing the manual windows & locks.

Lock barrels were also transferred over into the new handles.

Hinges & X-trouser catches are next on the shopping list, meantime is anyone after a pair of used Td5 doors?!

LED Beacons
I finally finished the install & wiring of the LED beacons I purchased from a fellow forum member a few days ago, & remembered to take a photo of them in situ this evening:

At some point over the Easter weekend at Convoy I'll try & get a video of them in action.

Taking advantage of the dry weather, I cleaned the original spare wheel cover in preparation for adding a Lothian 4x4 Response reflective vinyl. I won't run with it on the truck all the time, only when supporting at events etc. I also took the time to adjust my wheel carrier so it doesn't bounce so much when you shut the back door, and replaced my high level LED brake light for a slimline version.

Looks good Mark, did you get a new switch unit for your LED strobe lights? How did you mount the grill lights? I've got a roof mounted LED light bar but I'm conscious that it's really visible from behind but not so much for vehicles ahead. I'm thinking of either grill lights or a dash mounted light unit. A pic of them in action and how they are mounted would help me decide. 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)
Looking for another to replace it.

I also rejuvenated an old wheel cover to maike it show that I'm a member of Lothian 4x4 Response:

I'm supporting at the Maggies Monster Bike & Hike this weekend, helping move medical assets (people & kit) to where they are needed to provide adequate medical cover to the 3000 participants. The event starts in Fort William on Saturday at 0600 and covers a 31 mile cycle followed by either a 9, 23 or 41 mile hike to the bronze silver or gold finish.
