Which switch do you think you have ruled out, the off-side-head switch or the dip/indicator/horn switch. Its nearly always one or the other which has melted.

Both switches as I’ve run a temporary 12v supply to the side/dip (little stalk) switch and everything is working fine.
Only the original Brown/blue cable has the power drop. |

Without wanting to sound idiotic. You do not mention checking all the fuses for the lights. I presume you have tested them all given your abilities with a multimeter...

Yes, all fused check and fine. I’ve check the ones by the gear stick and the one under the driver seat.

I have a similar issue, I believe it's one of the headers behind the gearstick fuse box gone bad. My temporary fix is so good I haven't got round to investigating further....

Beat me to it miker. From what I remember there is a header (connecter) between the fuse box and switch and then another one between the switch and the lights on the engine side of the bulkhead. The one on the engine side is prone to vibrating apart if the connectors lock is damaged.. Either way these are the next bits to check you are getting 12v to... or not... |

If you have lights when you pull the stick back for flash but nothing when in the middle or pushed forward for just full beam then it will be the actual switch terminals have melted on the stick!
Have had it happen on all of my defenders, I even carry a spare stalk in the shed for when it fails, Sod’s law says late at night on a Saturday! Hold my beer and watch this! |

Not sure if you sorted this but i had the same issue and it was the 'pink' relay behind the dash that was faulty, replaced and all working fine since...
