Hi Folks,
I am having a very strange issue with my Puma 2.4 lately. The car takes too many tries to start, but most definitely it starts. When it's been idling for let's say longer than a day the issue worsens. When I crank the engine it makes this painful noise. Have a listen https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/VNPf9 What could be the problem? My battery is brand new, I checked the terminals and they are snugly fit. Anything else I should check? Also I have done the basic BAS Remap and disabled the EGR. (can't think how it could be related anyway) Please help.. |

Gents, one thing that I forgot to mention was, I have also fitted a Push Start unit, I was sick and tired of the ignition unit and decided to altogether ditch it for electronic push start..
Anyone think that could faulty? |

Have a look at this, worth checking the new starter button connections as well.

Yes, that could definitely be (part of) the problem. Over the years I've always found that in car systems (electrical and mechanical) any non standard parts or non standard configurations have a higher chance of being the source of any problems. Even high quality parts that have been fitted to a high standard. So, if there's anything non-standard in the system, I'd certainly be checking (and double checking) that as soon as possible. |
