England 2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Santorini Black
fitting 300tdi fuel tank
Hi Just ordering new fuel tank for a 300tdi 90 . What else would you suggest i order and will need ?

your best to clean it and paint it before fitting as the paint they come with lasts 10 mins these days

then we waxoyl or similar .

i would also test the tank for leaks when when you have fitted the seals and pick up pipes etc plus it helps to check if there is any debris or swarf in there.

Just fitted a new one to mine last week.
Order a new set of fittings and gaskets, some new tanks have them and some don’t. Check the rubber tank fill pipe carefully for cracks, mine was cracked and I only noticed when I when I went to refit it.
As already said, undercoat it especially underneath between the tank and tank guard, get as much under seal protection between to two parts (warm the under-seal in a bucket of warm water before applying)
Get new nuts and bolts X3 for the front tank mount to the chassis, it makes an awkward job a little easier.
Take your time and if you have a second set of hands so much the better...... I didn’t!

make sure you get a pressure tested one. i fitted a britpart one once, it had three holes in it, they had even spray painted over the holes! should of checked it first! Cheers
