2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey
just watched the video

it depends how you are driving it to is it reacting right.

when it gets into the cross axle and starts to spin a wheel you should then accelerate and keep accelerating until it moves fwd. if you were doing that and it rocked back as in the first couple of attempts all 3 bumps then its not right.

What is more likely is that you got cross axled, started to accelerate, it moved fwd a little, you backed off, TC slowed down a bit, it rolled back, you accelerated again and it kept going like that a couple of times before you backed off then tried again with more momentum.

When it drives off the last bump for the 2nd time is how it should react all the time. Cheers

I questioned your diff lock because only 1 wheel appeared to be turning on the first hump (half way through the clip). That said, I can't really see the other side of the car so I guess you were properly x-axle'd at points. Looking at it again, I can see that is the case on the second hump. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

You are correct - I did back off the gas as I would in the series to try regaintraction. Was my first week of ownership back then.
I have since on many occasions had the system kick in but it does seem still allow a lot of slip before it actually breaks the wheel. I say this looking out the window of the drivers side so I can't tell if the opposite is slipping at the same rate. Puma 110 - gone
Series III 1973 - going strong
